Pearls, a modern classic for brides

Pearls speak a language of the past, but also of the future. They are timeless classics, they tell the story of family women, passed on from generation to generation, and they are also current minimalist style symbols. Pearls are everything brides want them to be!

Today we want to talk about pearls, a wedding classic!
They made their low-key appearance in 2021, occupied the trendy editorial space as a fashion theme throughout the 2022 wedding season and, in 2023, continue to complete the looks of the coolest brides.

In a classic and timeless approach, pearls, especially pearl earrings, have always been present in bridal jewellery – inherited from a grandmother, borrowed from a mother, gifted by a sister, kept in delicate boxes to be passed on to future generations, a small treasure that shines bright from time to time, during beautiful and special occasions.

When we talk about pearls in a more modern wedding look, we're seeing them in veils, bridal shoes, tulle gloves (another great seasonal detail!), cocktail bags, hair accessories and even in bold make-up (any Euphoria fans out there?). They leave their role as jewellery behind and embrace the concept of style, making their mark in the moment.

Baroque pearls are on the rise, large and irregular, combined with gold, perfect for complementing more fluid and minimalist dresses. If you prefer modern shapes with volume, a more contemporary and sculptural design is a great option. If romance is your thing, lace and tulle are essential, which means a sweet and discreet mini version is the perfect match.

Pearls speak a language of the past, but also of the future, they will always be precious (but not overwhelming), delicate (and so versatile) and very feminine (for the entire spectrum!). No wonder we can find accessories at Zara, Matilda or Parfois. Simone Rocha bags are a whole vibe, and Dior's Fall23 collection, inspired by Marc Bohan’s travels to India, the house's designer in the 1960s, includes a stunning necklace that goes with every look.

Because we love them, we decided to create an entire folder on this topic on our Pinterest account. Discover it here and enjoy!
